August 8, 2026: Erroneous Expiration Notices

On August 8th, a technical issue occurred which caused some inspectors to receive an expiration notice in error.  Please note that if your latest certification status is listed as Certified or Recertified, your certification remains active and in good standing, and no action is needed from you regarding the expiration notice. Your active certification status is also always searchable on the ICP Inspector Status Verification site.

ICP is treating this matter with urgency and is working with API's IT team to correct the issue that caused the notices to be sent our Inspectors whose certifications are active. We sincerely apologize for any confusion, concern, or inconvenience this error may have caused.

Notice for API 1184 Applicants – December 2026 Testing Window

Candidates registering for the API 1184 exam during the December 4–25, 2026 testing window should be aware that instant score reporting will not be available for this administration.

Following the testing window, API will conduct a statistical analysis of the exam form prior to releasing results. As a result, final exam results are expected to be available approximately 6–8 weeks after December 25, 2026.
