Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Hours

If you are experiencing problems with the website, or need assistance to log into your account, please contact the API Helpdesk by phone at +1 (877) 562-5187 or by e-mail at ICPHelpdesk@api.org. Please also ensure that you are using an updated web browser and a desktop computer (not a mobile device), and that you have a stable internet connection while logged into the ICP Portal.

Accessing Recertification Quizzes


If you need to take a recertification quiz and do not see the quiz alert link, click "Return to myAPI" at the top right of the webpage, which will take you to the myAPI Dashboard. Then, click the "ICP Quiz" tile on the myAPI Dashboard. This will take you to the recertification quiz area. If you still need assistance with this, please contact customer service.

Changing Your Log-in Email (Username) or Password


Click "Return to myAPI" at the top right of the webpage, which will take you to the myAPI Dashboard. Follow the guidance there to change your log-in email/username or password. (To return to the ICP Portal without making any changes, click the "ICP" tile on the myAPI Dashboard.)

Changing the Name on your Account


To request a name change, candidates must send a copy of a government-issued photo ID, in English, of their new legal name to inspector@api.org. If making the request due to a legal name change, the candidate must send in the old Government ID with their original legal name, their new Government ID, and the official name change documentation. ICP staff will review the information for final approval of the name change.
